4 ABOUT ASPIRE ACADEMY Founded in 2004, Aspire Academy has grown into a distinguished Academy that is today recognized as the world’s leading sports academy in the development of youth athletes. The prestigious - Aspire Academy is in the forefront of sporting and academic development of student-athletes. The Academy is built on methodology that dedicatedly promotes, implements innovative ways in sports training and elite athlete development that enables talented individuals to maximise their potential. Focusing on a holistic approach, the Academy offers an integrated educational programme of sports development, sport science and academic learning. Eight years after its establishment, the first Aspire graduate to qualify and compete at the Olympic Games went on to win bronze - Mutaz Essa Barshim finished third in high Jump at London 2012. At Rio 2016 Olympics the number of Aspire graduates qualified to represent Qatar had grown to four. Aspire student athlete Owaab Barrow became a Youth Olympic gold medalist in the 110m hurdles at the 2018 games in Argentina. Football is the only team sport played at Aspire Academy so far and phenomenal successes recorded include, Qatar ‘s first ever Asian Cup victory achieved in 2019 by a National team of whom over 70% were developed at Aspire Academy. The Academy supports athletes that come from other Qatari sports federations by offering them high school education that is aligned to their training schedules. As part of Aspire Zone - an international sport destination - Aspire Academy is at the heart of a sporting revolution currently taking place in Qatar and around the region. In addition to being one of the world’s leading youth sports academies, Aspire Academy is fast becoming a favourite winter break training camp destination for top clubs from Europe, Asia and all round the world. The Academy fosters the promotion of an active sporting healthy lifestyle through specific community programs such as Aspire Multisport Skill Development Program. Together with other business units of Aspire Zone Foundation namely, (Aspire Logistics, Aspetar Qatar Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Hospital), Aspire Academy is developing sports champions, promoting healthy lifestyles and contributing to the sports economy of the present and the future.
