51 and Aspire Academy jointly with the academic support from the University of Brighton conceptualised and finalised a survey aiming to explore processes rele- vant to talent identification and development in youth academies of professional soccer clubs from around the world. While presented at the 2019 Global Summit edition in Doha, the investigation was published in May 2020 in the Special Issue on “ Talent Identification and Development in Soccer” (Issue 11-12: Volume 38, 2020) in the Journal of Sports Sciences. A second survey on strength training methodology elaborated by Fellows from Ju- ventus FC, The Football Association, Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio, and FC Red Bull Salzburg and Aspire Academy was presented at the 2019 Global Summit edition in Doha. Likewise, the results of a third survey on managing the transition of the player from Youth to Senior stages developed by fellows from Everton FC, Club Athleti- co Paranaense, Athletic Club Bilbao, Feyenoord and Aspire Academy were also presented and shared with the Fellows community at the 2019 Global Summit. The outcomes of this investigation are currently under elaboration in collaboration with the University of Stirling and Liverpool John Moores University for submission to a peer-reviewed journal in the areas of Coaching and Applied Sports Sciences. A consolidated community towards new milestones worldwide Building upon the foundations now in place as the tangible outcome of the achieve- ments over the last years, the newly established Scientific Committee of the Aspire in the World Fellows gathered in Doha in November 2019 to design a new research investigation led by Aspire Academy . On that occasion, Fellows from Sporting Clube de Portugal, FC Red Bull Salzburg, French Football Federation, Juventus FC, Premier League and Aspire Academy planned a study aiming to shed light on the nature of organisational and manage- ment processes of elite youth football academies in the modern football clubs. The underlying appreciation that optimisation of the structure of medical and per- formance processes is now strategically fundamental to support health and optimal development of the elite youth player drove the interest in targeting this particular area. Examining the integration of processes and practices to support player man- agement in the era of modern football As business enterprises, professional football clubs must remain competitive on both a sport and financial level in order to be effective and successful within the growing sports industry. The combined efforts of all relevant stakeholders in the club will therefore likely play a key role in determining whether the club achieves its strategic objectives. In this sense, the organisation will benefit from enhanced per- formance of their stakeholders through more effective and efficient management practices (e.g. organisational structure, quality systems, job satisfaction, commit- ment). With the price of footballers in the transfer market increasing each season, the capacity to develop talented young footballers is important for football clubs and academies around the world.
