58 Structure The majority of club and national federation respondents indicated their academies’ organization “is defined by its standardization. Work is very formalized, there are many routines and procedures, decision-making is centralized, and tasks are grouped by professional departments. Our roles are clearly defined. We have a formal planning process with budgets and audits, (internal or external) and procedures are regularly appraised for efficiency” (Fig. 2). The median number of medical and performance staff members within clubs and national federations was 12 (IQR, 6 to 16), 9 (IQR, 6 to 15), 10 (IQR, 6 to 15), and 6 (IQR, 3 to 24), respectively. Organizational structures were in place for 5 years (IQR, 2 to 8 years) and 8 years (IQR, 5 to 12) and reviewed on yearly basis in the majority of clubs and national federations, respectively. #### Figure 2 about here #### - Figure 2.
