22 23 11TH ASPIRE ACADEMY GLOBAL SUMMIT ASPIRE IN THE WORLD FELLOWS THE OPENING I am also very happy that Valter discussed the idea of opening the Aspire in theWorld Fellows programto a large group of U.S. soccer coaches and MLS coaches. We are about sharing; we are about knowledge exchange. Almost two decades ago, we attended conventions of the former NSCAA (now United Soccer Coaches). It was impressive and massive—I remember about 3,000 coaches gathered together. I believe you are hosting that convention in Philadelphia next year, which is a testament to the work Philadelphia is doing with development. I was impressed by the different people, backgrounds, and approaches to the game we saw there. We love to go to new countries and understand the challenges coaches face and their approach to player development. The U.S. has a complex ecosystem that includes regional associations and a prevalent pay-to-play system. This creates challenges in identifying talent and providing opportunities for the most talented players to arrive at elite professional football. That exchange of ideas, understanding how coaches approach these issues in different countries is what makes the Aspire in the World Fellows Program so special. Everybody comes with their own notions, backgrounds, and experiences. But the possibility of learning how to adapt those things depending on where you work, and the reality of your soccer world, is critical to becoming a successful coach and delivering a good pathway for players. As I always say, the program is meant for the coaches and the technical staff to make the most of it—for you to continue learning, adapting, and sharing. I hope that by opening it up to all the U.S. soccer coaches, you will find this an exciting opportunity to treasure. Hopefully, going forward, you will stay connected to us through Aspire and the way we approach coaching and youth development. Without further ado, I know you have a wonderful program. I know it will be fantastic for personal relationship building and bonding. A lot of you are friends who have been together for over a decade, and now you are making new friends as you enter the U.S. I hope it goes well. I know it will gowell.
