Aspire in the World Fellows Book - 2023
/111 Mutaz Barshim: Competition was always both good and challenging in our family. We competed in everything, whether it was who would get to the car first or who would achieve something better. Even when playing video games, the competitive spirit was always there. I think it’s what paved the way for me to be a competitive athlete. Many people do sports, but they don’t have that passion and competitiveness. I always had that, even though I wasn’t always a good athlete. I think I started to become a good athlete when I was 17 years old, but I always had that fire. Youwere surrounded by competition, by people doing the right things. Mutaz, you also had five brothers and one sister, all very sporty. What was the competition like? I’ve always been competitive, always wanting to be better. I can go today to do some training to improvemyself. If I’m not happy with the result, I know that I will always come back because I always have something that keeps me going. STAR CHAT
