/18 9TH ASPIRE ACADEMY GLOBAL SUMMIT In this regard, we must measure success of a coach around her/his ability to excel at dual objectives: 1) achieving results and team performance for the organization she/he represents in competitions; and 2) developing the player so that she/he can reach her/his maximum potential individually. What we often forget is that developing a player individually must be done for her/him to perform and generate value (sportively or financially) for the team/ organization that is investing in her/ his development. It is easy to fall into the perception that our duty is only to the player and end up neglecting the organization to whom the player owes that development and growth. It is essential to bridge the potential disconnect in fulfilling these objectives by aligning individual and collective efforts with the overarching organizational goals within the contemporary football ecosystem.
