/24 9TH ASPIRE ACADEMY GLOBAL SUMMIT I’ve been lucky enough to be in football for 10 years. There are so many different challenges in each country but in football, we’re here to be successful and win. If we don’t win, that’s it. I am responsible as the coach. It’s something inherent to my profession. It’s something we have to do daily because we manage people, staff and resources. Your staff as well manage resources, I don’t have direct responsibility over all aspects but I need to know about them. Basically, you are leading and managing people and this is a very important aspect. You need to create a sense of ownership. When you have a whole club behind you, the goal is to win and achieve those goals. You want it for everyone. With that sense of belonging to be on the same boat, you’re creating a boat, which is sailing into the sea. You know you’re going to face storms, you don’t Nowadays, football has evolved so much. We don’t just talk about preparing players for a match, nowwe have to involve the staff. Howmuch time do you spend with your staff and players? know when those storms will arrive or how high the waves are going to be, but that ship needs to be unbreakable, and everyone needs to be on it. In general, this analogy I’m creating with the boat is my responsibility, and I need to create a sense of belonging in the whole club. It’s key for everyone to feel committed to what we’re doing with our playing style. The medical staff will have an opinion on what we’re doing, but they need to support us with their energy. Basically, we need to be a role model. They need to follow our path and we must be demanding with ourselves as well. We need to create a sense of belonging with the whole club.
